D&L Half Marathon Training Plans

Walkers: Get ready for this 5-star, walker-friendly event!

The Delaware & Lehigh Heritage Half Marathon on November 6, 2016, is one of the most walker-friendly half marathons in the country! You’ll have up to 4.5 hours to complete the 13.1 mile course (that’s a 20-minute mile pace). And there will be pace groups and awards for walkers–just like they have for runners! Start training now and join the fun!

This 2016 D&L 3-month training plan is for you if you’ve been walking or exercising regularly for at least three months. You should also be able to walk continuously for 45 minutes. The focus of the plan is on building your endurance to cover the miles and includes some speed work to help you to walk faster. Training starts July 31st.

A training plan for experienced walkers who want to increase their speed will be posted at the end of August.
